Redalto Communications Support Site
Question: Intranet
This question relates to category Glossary
Answer:
An Intranet is a web based internal communication system that is for the exclusive use for company employees to share information, news and data. Access to an intranet is restricted using either IP or Password based system.
Sometimes an intranet may be partially opened up to suppliers and customers to form an ‘Extranet’ but is still not open to the general public (and therefore does not form part of the “Internet”).
Redalto Communications can provide a 'Hosted' Intranet service via a User Management system which can provide individuals with unique logins to a private portal which hosts a number of Intranet applications.
