Question: How can I display a video on my website?

This question relates to category HTML Text Editor

Answer:

Rather than uploading a video to your website, we suggest to host your video via a dedicated video streaming server.

Youtube provides the most practical and cost effective method for displaying videos on your website. Below is a step-by-step overview of how to embed a Youtube video into your website via the Redalto Content Management System text editor.

    • Sign up for an account on Youtube.
    • Click the 'UPLOAD' button.
    • Click 'Browse', find the file you want to upload and click OK.
    • Once the upload has completed you will be given the url.
    • Go to the url and click on the spocket wheel on the right side of the page.
    • Now you should see a whole bunch of new options. Select if you would like a border, player colour and size.
    • Highlight and copy all text in the 'EMBED' field.
    • Now login to your control panel and choose the page you want to edit.
    • Decide where you would like the video to appear and write 'EMBED VIDEO' in uppercase.
    • Now click on the HTML button in the bottom right corner of the editor.
    • Scroll through the code until you find 'EMBED VIDEO', highlight this text and paste your YouTube code over it.
    • Click Save and your webpage should now show your video.
